USC pinbusters grab three golds to rule PBC Youth kegfest

The University of San Carlos pinbusters stole the show after collecting three gold medals to dominate the Philippine Bowling Congress Youth Inter-School 3rd Quarter tournament at the Gaisano Bowlingplex.

Rafael Veloso was left unchallenged in the collegiate boys division. He registered 183, 196, 198, 159, 192, and 180 in six games for a total of 1,180 pinfalls.

Elaine Uy prevailed over her rivals from Velez College to reign in the collegiate girls class with 1,059 pinfalls. Jacklyn Lim and Michelle Lim settled for the silver and bronze with 1,025 and 1,000 pins, respectively.

Clarence Tiu plucked the boys majors division title for USC's third gold haul with a total of 967 pinfalls in five games.

University of Cebu's Michael Choachuy tallied 843 to grab the silver, while Johnson Tan of USC clinched the bronze with 767 pins.

Sacred Heart School-Jesuit, on the other hand, posted a 1-2 finish in the booys juniors division with the multi-awarded Jomar Jumapao at the helm, logging 1,050 pinfalls in five games, while schoolmate Jake Yap claimed the silver with 951 pinfalls.

Rocci Damole of St. Theresa's College grabbed the girls majors tiara with 912 pins. She edged out Nikkie Tan of Cebu Doctors College with 874 pinfalls and Jennifer Tan of Velez College with 821 pins.

In the girls juniors, Alexis Sy of Philippine Christian Gospel wiped out 919 pins to outclass Misha Co of Center for International Education for the gold. Co settled for the silver, while Kimberly Lao of SHS-J got the broze.

Micah Co of CIE toppled 639 pins in four games to lord it over in the girls bantamweight category, while Xyra Cabusas of USC (520) and Kimberly Panuncillo of SHS-J (438) landed at second and third.
