Car driven by ex-mayor hits motorcycle rider
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — A motorcycle rider died after he was reportedly run over by a car driven by a former mayor of Pulilan, Bulacan.
Investigation showed the victim, identified only as Jeffrey was traveling along Esguerra street in Barangay Peñabatan when he rearended a Honda Click motorcycle driven by a certain Miguel.
Jeffrey’s motorcycle crashed on the road, causing him to be thrown off his vehicle and run over by a Toyota Prado driven by former Pulilan mayor Ma. Rosario Montejo, according to Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at the Bulacan Medical Center in Malolos.
Probers said the family of the fatality agreed not to press charges and decided to settle the matter amicably.
