LTO collects P8.3B in Q1

CEBU, Philippines — With a big revenue target this year, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) is optimistic that they are on the right track after collecting ?8.3 billion in the first quarter of 2025.
The LTO set ?34 billion as revenue target for 2025, and as of March 31, the agency’s collection has already reached a total of ?8,373,775,537.00.
“Malaki ang revenue target ng LTO ngayong taon at hindi naman ito basta na lang napag-isipan dahil naniniwala kami na kayang-kaya namin itong ma-achieve,” LTO chief, assistant secretary Vigor Mendoza II, said in a statement.
He attributed the high revenue collection to strategic policy implementation which ensures transaction efficiency and the aggressive implementation of road safety rules and regulations.
Mendoza lauded all the employees of the LTO for their dedication and hard work in the past three months for revenue collection efficiency, and looks forward to achieving their target in 2025.
“At this rate, kayang-kaya nating abutin ang ating revenue target and I am optimistic that we would even surpass this. With our hard work and cooperation to achieve our goal, kayang-kaya natin ito,” Mendoza added.
LTO is also working on enhancing morale by initiating moves for job security. A number of LTO employees, who spent years as job-order personnel, were already given permanent positions.
Mendoza is also continuing to work with the Department of Transportation, currently under the leadership of Secretary Vince Dizon and the Department of Budget and Management, for the regularization of more contractual employees. — (FREEMAN)
