Move It rider, passenger died in SRP road mishap
CEBU, Philippines — A moto-taxi driver and his passenger died after crashing into the center island along the South Road Properties shortly before noon on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
The fatalities were identified as Move It rider Brian James Liva Pedrosa Bayarcal, 26, a native from Lamintak Norte, Medellin, Cebu, and his passenger Chlea Jane Coronel Gomez, 28, a resident of Mandaue City.
Police Major Jonathan dela Cerna, head of the Traffic Police Unit of the Cebu City Police Office, said Bayarcal was traveling south when he crashed on the center island, landed in the opposite lane, and was hit by an oncoming Mitsubishi Xpander driven by Dominador A. Duyongan, 60, a resident of Barangay Pardo, Cebu City.
“ Based sa atong initial investigation, according sa atoang responding police officer, opposite duha ka party kining gamotor naigo ni sa gutter unya katong naka sakay sa motor sad to say nalagput gyud nalabay sa pikas lane nga opposite lane,“ said Dela Cerna.
The motorcycle riders suffered serious injuries resulting in their death. — (FREEMAN)
