CEBU, Philippines - A 31-year old man is facing charges before the court for allegedly attacking his co-workers using bolo last week.
State Prosecutor Mario Ley Gidayawan held accused, Jessie Hera Saldivar alias Ken and Shine, a resident of Urban 2 Area in Talisay City, Cebu, for trial after finding probable cause.
During inquest proceeding, accused manifested not to file counter-affidavit to the complaint instead face the charges in court.
Gidayawan recommended P80,000 bail for temporary liberty for two counts of frustrated murder against the accused.
The incident happened on December 17, 2013 at about 2:20 pm.
In their joint-affidavit, arresting officers SPO1 Emerson Isidro and PO2 Rolando Torregosa Jr., said while they were at their designated post at JY Square Area in Barangay Lahug, they received a call from some concern citizens that there was a hacking incident in a nearby parlor.
“…upon arrival we saw accused waiving and brandishing a sharp bolo with two ladies Maryanne Labiste and Priscilla Impas lying on the ground wounded,†said the two in their joint-affidavit.
Thereafter, the police officers said they immediately approached the accused and ordered to drop the bolo.
Labiste, 21, a resident of Andres Abellana, Guadalupe, Cebu City and Impas, 43, a resident of Looc Salvacion, Lapu-Lapu City were brought to a hospital for medication as they sustained multiple wounds.
Prior to the incident, the victims said that they already received threats coming from the accused saying that if the new buyer of the Salon where they were working will assume, he will kill them.
On Dec. 17, the victims said while they were entertaining customers, the new owner of the Marygold Salon arrived and asked them what was needed.
While having a conversation, they said accused intervened by saying in a threatening voice that he will kill Impas.
After the incident, accused was brought by the responding police to Mabolo Police Station. (FREEMAN)
