CEBU, Philippines - A softdrinks contractor was injured in a robbery in Countryside, Barangay Lipata, Minglanilla, southern Cebu on Friday dawn.

Junjun Marcos, 30, of Poblacion Talisay City sustained a gunshot wound when they were robbed by two unidentified robbers on a motorcycle.

PO2 Wendyl Aranez of the Minglanilla Police said that Marcos, a collector, was with his driver, James Morello, 39 of Lawaan-2, Talisay City when they were attacked by two robbers at around 3:30 p.m.

Aranez said that Morello just received payment for their delivery at the said place when one of the two robbers onboard a motorcycle fired shots at them.

Morello, who was armed with a gun, fired back at the assailants and wounded one.

The assailants reportedly hid behind the parked truck where Marcos was left.

When Marcos heard the gun shots, he immediately scampered out of the truck and tried to run.

But when he realized that he left the bag which contained all of their collected money, he decided to run back to the truck.

Unfortunately, one of the suspects confronted him and shot him in the stomach.

The robbers immediately sped off onboard their blue motorcycle.
