CPPO now has P32T reward fund for Bella's arrest

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Police Office is already close to attaining their P50,000 target amount as reward for any information leading to the arrest of Bella Ruby Santos.

Since the CPPO opened the fundraising drive to its personnel last week, they have already collected a total of P32,000 as of yesterday. The amount included the P2,000 that Reynante Pique personally deposited yesterday in the donation box at the CPPO headquarters.

Renante, father of kidnapping and murder victim Ellah Joy Pique, went to CPPO to give his share of the reward money that the police are raising for his daughter’s justice.

“Tampo lang kay maikog ko sa mga pulis nga ako mismo ang hingtungdan unya dili ko motampo,” Reynante said.

CPPO director Patrocinio Comendador did not allow Reynante to give but the latter insisted.

Comendador initiated the fundraising after they have failed to arrest Santos.

“Money is the greatest motivator and besides wa mi mangayo sa mga tao, amo ning kuwarta,” Comendador defended his initiative.

Meanwhile, Reynante also visited Regional State Prosecutor Fernando Gubalane yesterday to make a personal follow-up on the effort to arrest Santos’ boyfriend and co-accused Ian Charles Griffiths.

Reynante was briefed by Gubalane on the process of how the warrant of arrest against Griffiths will be served considering that he is in the United Kingdom. Gubalane said the arrest will be made through a government-to-government negotiation.

Santos and Griffiths have been issued warrant of arrest by Regional Trial Court Judge Ester Veloso following their indictment of the criminal case for kidnapping with homicide.   - (THE FREEMAN)
