CEBU, Philippines - Acting Cebu Provincial Police Office director Patrocinio Comendador wants other police units to serve the warrant of arrest against a former policewoman who has been wanted for murder.
This after the Argao Police Station reportedly failed to serve the arrest warrant against ex-policewoman Virgilia Albarracin.
Albarracin’s continued freedom despite the pending warrant of arrest was attributed to the alleged protection she enjoys from her brother policeman.
Argao Police chief Wilbert Parilla denied that they have been remiss in their duty to arrest Albarracin.
“No it’s not true. We cannot locate her. We will be glad if somebody can report her whereabouts,” Parilla said.
Comendador said he wants the Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Branch to serve the warrant immediately.
Asked if he will investigate the Argao police for their failure to serve the warrant, Comendador said; “I’d rather focus in arresting the suspect and verify later whether there are basis to investigate the police.”
Albarracin and her husband Sammy were accused in the killing of Alejandro Caminade in Barangay Taloot, Argao in November 3, 2010.
Regional Trial Court Judge Maximo Perez issued a warrant for their arrest on October 18, 2010. Sammy has already surrendered by his wife remained at large. (FREEMAN)
