CEBU, Philippines - After three years in hiding, the most wanted personality in Danao City was finally arrested.
Marvin Cuba, the suspect in the killing of the son of a councilman three years ago, was captured when six policemen stormed Cuba’s hideout located near the boundary of Danao City and Compostela town.
Inspector Reyco Romaguera, officer-in-charge of the Danao Police Station, said Cuba was under surveillance for four weeks until he was captured past 12 midnight yesterday.
Policemen tried several times to apprehend Cuba but he would quickly leave the area upon sensing the approaching lawmen.
But through the help of their assets, the police finally captured Cuba.
Recovered from Cuba’s hideout was a 357 caliber revolver which the police suspected to be the same gun used in the killing of Mark Viduya, son of Luok barangay councilman Manuel Viduya.
Danao City policemen said that they will conduct a ballistics test of the gun to check if it was the same gun used in the killing.
Charges will be filed against Cuba tomorrow. - Ryan Christopher J. Sorote/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
