CEBU, Philippines - Four members of a certain gang called the crips are now facing a murder case before the Regional Trial Court for allegedly shooting members of another gang called the bloods and killing one of them almost a year ago in Barangay Tejero.
Jordan Alueta, Joseph Yu, Eleuterio Eliacano Jr. and Aldus Arregadas were charged in court for helping each other shoot and kill Kenneth Veloso on March 9, 2010.
Eyewitness Primo Andrade, a resident of Sitio Sampaguita, Barangay Tejero, said that he heard a gunshot just outside his house that day and went to check.
“I curiously peeped from my house window which eventually saw Alueta an alleged crips gang member armed with gun who then gave chase and shot our neighbors bloods gang members Kenneth Veloso, Ana Marry Bukiron, Jeffrey Villomo who were hit and slumped in an alley while the other gang members sped away,” Andrade said.
Andrade added that he saw three other accused appear to help Alueta and they shot Veloso at close range, killing him instantly.
According to Melvin Antonio Veloso, the father of Kenneth, prior to the incident he was in the house when he also heard a gunshot. Not long after a neighbor called him from outside to say Kenneth had been shot.
“Upon thinking that my son is involved in such incident as a victim, I together with my other sons and wife rushed to the scene then saw Kenneth sprawled on the ground with gunshot wounds on different parts of his body,” Melvin said.
Melvin said they then brought his son and the others who were injured to the hospital but his son was declared dead on arrival.
On March 11, Melvin said he was informed that one of the accused who shot his son was arrested by the police and brought to the office of the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office. – (FREEMAN)
