Pag-IBIG Mandaue branch to conduct 2 outreach programs

CEBU, Philippines - In celebration of the 30th anniversary (or Pearl Anniversary) of the Home Development Mutual Fund, a simultaneous Outreach Program will be conducted in all branch offices of Pag-IBIG Fund nationwide today.

The Pag-IBIG Fund Mandaue Branch office will have two outreach programs which will be done in coordination with the City Social Welfare Services of Mandaue City.

The first outreach program is a Livelihood Project for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).

The target participants are the bona fide members of the Federation for the Welfare of Person with Disabilities in Mandaue City, Inc.

Pag-IBIG Mandaue Branch will be assisting identified PWDs to address their needs for an additional capital for their existing small businesses.

Their businesses include sari-sari stores, soap making, cellphone repair shop, art sign, broomstick making, crispy chicken rolling store, and tempura vending.

There will be a simple turnover ceremony for the beneficiaries today at 1:00 p.m. at the Mandaue Branch Office, A. S. Fortuna St., Bakilid, Mandaue City.

Moreover, the second outreach program will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the same venue.

This program is the "Adopt A Street Child" wherein there will be seventy-five street children who will be joining the annual children's party for Pag-IBIG Mandaue employees' kids.

These street children will be treated with a Jollibee Party and at the same time receive Christmas gift packs from Pag-IBIG and from their partner Pag-IBIG Mandaue employees' kids.

A total budget of P65,000 has been allocated by Pag-IBIG Fund Mandaue Branch for both programs.

The Outreach Program of Pag-IBIG Fund is in response to the corporate social responsibility of the institution and will be a continuing program of the Fund in the coming years. (FREEMAN)
