CEBU, Philippines – The Lapu-Lapu City council has approved a resolution congratulating Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa and Plantation Bay Resort and Spa for having been recognized as two of the top resorts in Asia.
The two resorts appear in a list put together by Conde Nast Traveller Magazine, an international magazine based in the United States and in the United Kingdom.
The city council resolution said Conde Nast Traveller, an international magazine and the bible of luxury resorts in the World recognizes both Shangri-La' Mactan Resort and Spa and Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, as belonging in the top twenty resorts in Asia for 2010.
Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa ranked number 14 with 83.2 points while Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, also in Lapu-Lapu City, was number 15 with a rating of 82.6-one notch higher than its last year's 16th place ranking.
The resorts were rated on activities, facilities, food, dining, location, over-all design, rooms, and services by an army of trusted judges.
The resolution said about 380 resorts were rated by magazine readers in a global survey and the results were released in Mid-October this year.
The recognition of Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa and Plantation Bay Resort and Spa likewise brings pride and honor to the city of Lapu-Lapu and the same would help boost the economy, revenue collection, business, and tourisms industry of the city. (FREEMAN)
