CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City is intensifying its clean-up drive in coastal barangays including those in Olango Island and neighboring islets.
City Mayor Paz Radaza called the attention of barangay captains in the city mainland and island barangays to closely monitor the garbage at the seashores.
Radaza recently concentrated the cleanliness and beautification drives in previous months in the different barangays in the mainland. But she now wants coastal barangays to also intensify their clean-up drives.
The city participated the International Coastal Clean-up every September every year, but Mayor Radaza wants a continuity in the clean up drive activities.
Beach resorts and hotel owners and operators always join the cleanup drives initiated by the city. – THE FREEMAN
