Revilla expects same support Cebuanos gave him in 2007

CEBU, Philippines - ‘Panday’ seeks to forge a renewal to the confidence the Cebuano community gave him in the 2007 elections.

“I am happy to be here again. Every year, I make sure I’ll be able to join the Cebuanos in celebrating the Sinulog,” said Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. yesterday in a press conference with Cebu media at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel in Lahug.Revilla is running again for senator under the Lakas-Kampi-CMD but that he is also a guest candidate of all political parties, except the Liberal Party.

He was voted number one senator here in Cebu in 2007 and he expects the same support in the May polls this year.

“Kaya nga feel at home ako sa tuwing pupunta ako rito. Official visit man o bakasyon. Alam kong hindi ako pinabayaan ng mga Cebuanos at patuloy na hindi pababayaan. Gihigugma ko kamo,” Revilla said.

Last year, Revilla joined the million Cebuanos as well as local and foreign tourists in the revelry, bringing a million-peso medical assistance under his “Kalusugan Ating Pangalagaan” or KAP Medical Assistance Program and a P10-million infrastructure fund as part of the fulfillment of his commitment to improve public health and infrastructure here.It was also learned that Revilla filed around 500 bills at the Senate, 76 of which are already made into law.

The latest law that he sponsored is the Anti-Vouyerism Act at the height of the Katrina Halili-Hayden Kho sex scandal. — Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon/MEEV   (FREEMAN NEWS)
