CEBU, Philippines - The northern town of Tabogon will soon be known as retirement capital in Cebu as investors are interested to put up businesses that would cater to the needs of foreigners interested to live in the country.
As this developed, a roll-on, roll-off (roro) port is being eyed in the town in its efforts to establish links to neighboring province of Leyte.
During his visit to Tabogon, Cebu fourth district Representative Benhur Salimbangon said the town has a potential to become a retirement area in the province.
He said investors are interested to put up businesses in the town because of its good location being near to the province of Leyte.
But he admitted that Tabogon needs a roro port to serve those passengers coming from different provinces.
"Daghan na kaayo nga mga dagkong investors ang mipakita sa ilang kadasig nga mobutang og patigayon sa atong distrito," Salimbangon told The FREEMAN.
He remembered that a Singaporean investor had visited his district, especially Tabogon, to look for business opportunities.
However, he said that there is a need for Tabogon to have abundant supply of water and power, and good infrastructure system.
