CEBU, Philippines - A man was charged for possession of illegal drugs and deadly weapon before the Regional Trial Court after he was caught having in his possession a packet of shabu and a 10-inch knife on Kawit Street, Barangay Ermita last August 27.
Pablito Torrecampo Dumdum was arrested by barangay tanods who saw him holding a knife and a packet of shabu in a small alley.
Barangay tanod Alberto Paon said that at around 7:30 a.m., while they were on duty and conducting a roving foot patrol, they spotted Dumdum walking holding a bladed weapon, which he placed it in front of his waistline when he saw them. This prompted the tanods to hurriedly approached Dumdum and conducted a body frisk.
Confiscated from Dumdum was a kitchen knife measuring 10 inches long and a small transparent plastic pack containing of white crystalline substance believed to be Methamphetamine Hydrochloride locally known as “shabu” placed inside the front pocket of his pants.
Dumdum is now facing charges of violation of Section 11 of the dangerous Drugs Act and is required to pay a bail of P200,000 for his temporary liberty. — Jasmin R. Uy/WAB (FREEMAN NEWS)
