CEBU, Philippines - The man who killed a refiller of cosmetic products inside a mall the other day has been charged with murder before the Regional Trial Court yesterday.
Melvin Compra is now facing charges for allegedly killing Arnold Bonghanoy because of jealousy. Compra allegedly stabbed Arnold Bonghanoy, 20, around 5 p.m. Thursday using a knife he bought inside the mall.
Bonghanoy died of multiple stab wounds an hour after he was taken to Perpetual Succour Hospital.
PO3 Geoffrey Gutual of Homicide Section of Cebu City Police Office said Compra accused Bonghanoy of having a relationship with his live-in partner, with whom he has a four-year-old son.
Gutual said two weeks ago, Compra threatened Bonghanoy after learning of the relationship.
Gutual said Compra planned the killing and bought the kitchen knife he used in the attack to the fourth floor of the mall.
He said Bonghanoy was refilling cosmetic products in the supermarket when being attacked by Compra.
Police said Bonghanoy tried to flee by rushing to the retail office, where he was cornered and attacked.— Jasmin R. Uy/LPM (FREEMAN NEWS)
