TOCA awardees honored tomorrow

CEBU, Philippines - Best considered as having clearly shown the ability to lead people and create change, this year’s Ten Outstanding Cebuano Awards (TOCA) recipients may set the tone for other talented people to make difference in the lives of Cebuanos.

This year’s TOCA awardees will be honored and presented to the public at the 27th anniversary of “Tingog sa Lungsod,” a radio program hosted by Engr. Greg S. Senining, TOCA director.

The event will be held at the Sacred Heart Center along D. Jakosalem Street, Cebu City at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

TOCA’s board has considered nominees in all categories which include achievements during the past 12 months in the field of public service, leaderships in action, achieving results, among others.

This year’s TOCA recipients are Brigadier General Alan C. Bontuyan, government service-military; Jose B. Esgana, accountancy; Engr. Romeo A. Villaceran, engineering-contracting; Arleigh Jay C. Sitoy, environmental preservation-management; Johnny V. De Los Reyes, entrepreneurship-invention; Almario G. Bitang, entrepreneur; and Lahug Baranggay Captain Mary Ann C. De los Santos, public service.

Guest speaker and resource person of the event is Alliance for Nationalism and democracy Rep. Pastor M. Alcover Jr.

Alcover, who is also the president of Cebu Association of media Practitioners, will be introduced by Sam Costanilla, Cebu Capitol media consultant.

This years’ TOCA will be co-presented by the Cebu Breakfast Club headed by lawyer George P Bragat.   (THE FREEMAN)
