CPPO to have OIC

CEBU, Philippines - The Police Regional Office-7 is going to designate an officer-in-charge prior to the final selection of the successor of Cebu Provincial Police Office director, Senior Supt. Carmelo Valmoria.

Supposedly, Valmoria was ordered to transfer to Camp Crame as early as April 13 but it was requested to put the transfer on hold so he would be able to accomplish his remaining tasks for this month. Thus, he will be reporting to Camp Crame next month.

Valmoria was chief of the Regional Operations and Plans Division of the PRO-7 before he was appointed as CPPO director.

Before he would vacate his post, Valmoria said he recognizes the help of his members in the maintenance of peace and order particularly in the Province of Cebu; for their assistance in campaigns against illegal acts, specifically in the illegal drugs trade; as well as in the fight against rebel communists and terrorists.

Further, he expressed his gratitude to church leaders for their unwavering support and to Governor Gwendolyn Garcia for designating him as director of the provincial police office.

He called on continuous support from the police force to the soon-to-be installed new CPPO chief. — Mark Z. Gantuangco (THE FREEMAN)
