Truck loses control, smashes into wall

-

Cebu - A 10-wheeler truck smashed into a wall in barangay Cansojong, Talisay City, after its driver lost control while driving at the South Coastal Road yesterday afternoon around 2 pm.

No one, including truck driver Mauricio Lapus, 50, of barangay Panganihan, Toledo City, was seriously injured.

Lapus, who works for Geo Transport and Construction Inc., said he had just left their crushing plant of their company in barangay Dumlog, Talisay City, after delivering soil.

He said a man suddenly crossed the highway in front of his truck and he swerved to avoid him and lost control of the vehicle.

The truck bearing plate no. RFE-540 then hit a concrete island and veered off the road and came to rest on its left side, but not before hitting a wall of a lot owned by a certain Jose Ong and barely missed a shanty owned by Emilia Arcilla, 50 in Carmen Village, Cansojong.

Lapus only sustained bruises as a result of the accident.

“Ako nang gi-skediulan ugma ang pagpakigkita sa supervisor sa driver ug ang tag-iya sa balay nga si Emilia para sabutan-sabutan lang ang mga gastuhan kay wala man say kinabuhi nga na kalas,” PO1 Erwin Denila of the Talisay City Traffic Police said. — Christopher Gabriel Bonjoc/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
