Bohol to have SWAT team

Cebu - The Police Regional Office is organizing a Special Weapon and Tactics team for Bohol.

At least 40 personnel of the Bohol Provincial Police Office have started their training in the province since last Thursday. The training will last for 45 days.

PRO-7 director Chief Supt. Ronald Roderos said that the BPPO has never had a SWAT team before and only requests to borrow Cebu-based SWAT personnel in emergency cases.

He said Bohol is a tourist spot so it needs a SWAT team of its own to provide security to its tourists.

SWAT personnel from the police offices of Cebu City, Mandaue City, and Lapu-Lapu City are conducting the training. – Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
