CEBU - A complaint for murder was filed yesterday before the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office against a policeman after he was linked in the killing of a lechon dealer in barangay Lahug, Cebu City.
Lawyer Inocencio de la Cerna Jr. filed a supplemental affidavit of witnesses amending the earlier murder complaint they filed against Yuli Ramas, Diosdado Ortega and Jackie Trazona for the killing of lechon dealer Methusael Inesola in the evening of December 31.
Two witnesses tagged PO3 Kent Yngayo as the owner of the guns used in the murder of Inesola. George Ryan Lopez and Rogelio Adolfo claimed that they are familiar with the firearms recovered by the police from Yngayo’s house where two of the alleged gunmen sought refuge.
Lopez claimed he was present when Ramas, Ortega and Trazona shot Inesola using different firearms. After the shooting, Ramas allegedly scampered away while Ortega and Trazona ran towards Yngayo’s house where they hid themselves.
According to Lopez, he saw how the responding policemen were misled by Yngayo when he denied that the two suspects were in his house.
In fact, there was a standoff for more than two hours until the members of the Special Weapons and Tactics team forced themselves into the house to arrest Ortega and Trazona.
The police also recovered a KG 9 machine pistol, caliber 9-millimeter pistol, caliber .45 and a frontier revolver with several rounds of assorted ammunitions from the suspects.
Lopez said he is familiar with the KG9 pistol because this was allegedly left by Yngayo at their house when his uncle, Arrol Adolfo, was gunned down in December 2007.
The firearm was allegedly left with them for two weeks which made him familiar with it. Lopez’s affidavit was also supported by another witness Rogelio Adolfo.
Yngayo was earlier charged with illegal possession of firearms and obstruction of justice. – Fred P. Languido/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
