Cebu - President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will inaugurate today an estimated P100 million worth of different infrastructure projects in the towns of San Remigio and in Aloguinsan, Cebu.
Arroyo, who had dinner with the local media at the Malacañang sa Sugbo last night, is expected to conduct an aerial inspection of the Antonio Y. de Pio Highway this morning.
She will be taken by helicopter to Argawanon, San Remigio where she would be met by 4th District Rep. Benhur Salimbangon and the town officials. From there she will motor to the Hagnaya Port.
In Hagnaya, she will be given a briefing by Angelo Verdan, general manager of Cebu Ports Authority, on the P30-million port project.
Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane will also brief the President Arroyo on the other infrastructure projects worth P36.2 million like the dredging of hard rock materials and installation of lighted markers in the 4th Congressional District.
From the Hagnaya Port whe will head back to the landing zone in Argawanon and would head southwest to the town of Aloguinsan.
She is expected to arrive at Aloguinsan Municipal Hall grounds at around 11:00 in the morning and will have a motorcade to Calape for the inauguration of the Toledo-Pinamungahan-Aloguinsan-Mantalongon Road project.
The said road concreting project worth P45.74 million has a total length of 2,340 meters. The project started last October 4, 2007 and was completed last month.
The President together with Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, Presidential Management Staff chief Cerge Remonde and other municipal officials will have lunch at the municipal hall then the President will depart for Mactan Cebu International Airport for her departure to Manila at 3:30 in the afternoon. — Mitchelle L.
