2 men injured in Pasil, Kasambagan shootings
CEBU - Two men are in critical condition after being shot in two separate incidents in barangays Pasil and Kasambagan.
The first incident happened in sitio Lawis, barangay Pasil when fisherman Rickman Puza, 29, was shot by two neighbors around 9 p.m. last Wednesday.
Initial investigation showed that Puza was sitting on a bench when his neighbors ‘Litoy’ and ‘Bani’ approached him and shot him several times, hitting him on the neck. The suspects remain at large.
SPO4 Alex Dacua of the Homicide Section said illegal drugs might be involved in the shooting, because Puza is reportedly engaged in the business.
The second incident happened yesterday at F. Cabahug Street when the supervisor of BBQ.Com Restaurant, Neil John Codiñera, 26, was shot by no less than the establishment’s security guard, Charlie Gabunada, of Extreme Security Agency.
Prior to the incident, the two went out to drink together with the other employees of BBQ.Com. They were already off from work.
After drinking, they reportedly transferred to a videoke bar at F. Cabahug Street when, at about 3 a.m. an argument ensued between Codiñera and Gabunada in relation to their jobs at the barbeque restaurant.
When they were on their way home past 6 am, Codiñera was reportedly trying to comfort Gabunada when the latter suddenly shot him and hit him on the thigh. Gabunada then fled and remained at large as of yesterday.
Codiñera is now confined at the Cebu Doctors’ Universtiy Hospital. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
