Town officials thank TF Foundation

CEBU - Pinamungajan towns officials expressed their gratitude to The FREEMAN Foundation for the construction of a community library in the mountain barangay of Tangub, as well as the conduct of the Balik Eskwela 2008 there last July 11-12 of this year.

Municipal Mayor Geraldine Yapha with Maria Honeylette Yapha – presiding officer pro-tempore of the Sangguniang Bayan and town councilors Josefa Laparan, Francisco Bellones, Dexter Rosesdo Cerna, Apolonio Ygay, Jr.; Jose Tejano, and Romulo Enario thanked the Foundation for choosing Tangub Elementary School as one of the beneficiaries.

On the fourth year of the “Balik Eskwela” program, a special project of the Foundation, pupils and teachers of Tangub received school supplies and teaching materials, respectively.

The town officials cited in Resolution No. 84, Series of 2008 that they are “expressing their sincere gratitude to the Foundation for extending heartfelt assistance to the school through the construction of the Tangub Community Library, complete with bookshelves, assorted books, teachers tables, monobloc chairs, electric fans, folding bed, medicine cabinet, wall clock, a miniature globe, and other provisions needed inside the library; including clinic and toilet facilities.”

“Aside from the Balik Eskwela program, the Foundation conducted a fun day for the kids in barangay Tangub. Local officials sincerely appreciated this laudable act,” the resolution also reads.

The said resolution was adopted on mass motion, and approved last August 22. A copy was furnished to The FREEMAN general manager Melandro Mendoza who received it the other day while conducting a periodical check on the site.

Also, the Core Group turned over a computer printer the other day which was received by head teacher Leona Sata.

Further, it was learned that Tangub Elementary School has three new teachers – Ms. Madel Lesigues, Mr. Mark Robert Gino, and Ms. Jingle Mamerto.

Meanwhile, indigent children in the mountain barangay of Calidngan, Carcar City will be this year’s recipients of the “Christmas with Angels” project on its fourth year.   In coordination with Rev. Fr. Ver Pedrano, parish priest, 100 kids - from seven to 11 years old - will be treated to a Christmas party at the Cebu Parklane International Hotel, a solid partner of the Foundation in this particular project. The children will also receive basic goods and presents with the help of our generous donors and sponsors.
