Man just bailed out of prison murdered

-

CEBU - Just days after the police created the “Task Force Motorcycle,” a man who just bailed out of prison was shot by two motorcycle-riding men shortly before midday yesterday along F. Sotto Drive in barangay Camputhaw, Cebu City.

Mark “Macoy” Pulvera, 42, of 48-A Gorordo Avenue was killed on the spot after bullets pierced his left cheek and right hand.

Witness Vicente Climaco said the assailants, wearing black jackets and helmets, arrived on board a black XRM motorcycle just shortly after Pulvera arrived in the area with his motorcycle-for-hire.

Without any word, one of them disembarked and shot Pulvera thrice.

Climaco said the assailant even pointed the gun at him but eventually left when he told them he had nothing to do with the victim. He said he could not identify the men.

Mobile Patrol Group Chief Inspector Arnel Banzon confirmed Pulvera was arrested by police last September 29 for brandishing an unlicensed firearm also in barangay Camputhaw.

Pulvera was first detained at the Cebu City Police Office but was transferred to the Cebu City Jail. He was later released on October 8 after posting bail.

Pulvera’s relatives reportedly advised the victim to remain in detention to avoid further trouble but Pulvera reportedly insisted of going out of jail.

The victim was living with his grandmother and reportedly has two common-law wives.

Pulvera’s cousin, Myra, said the victim had a number of enemies in their barangay.

Policemen recovered three empty shells from a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene. Follow-up investigation is now being conducted to determine the motive of the killing.
