CEBU - A 30-year-old man was hacked to death by his younger brother early morning yesterday in Danao City after the victim reportedly went crazy and tried to kill their father.
The suspect, 20-year-old Ryan Labador, voluntarily surrendered to the police and claimed responsibility over the crime.
In an interview, Ryan said his brother, Allan Labador, was chained up for three months because the latter reportedly went insane due to drug abuse. But Allan was set free yesterday and was asked to tend to their mango tree.
But Allan reportedly got irked and threw stones at Ryan and their father Rodelio. Ryan and Rodelio then decided to put the chain back on Allan but the latter was able to run away.
Rodelio ran after his son but Allan reportedly threw another stone at Rodelio and hit the latter on the foot. Rodelio reportedly slid down to a creek.
For fear that Allan might kill their father, Ryan got a scythe and ran after his brother, hitting the latter first on the waist. When Allan tried to escape, Ryan said he hit his brother again, this time, on the nape.
