CEBU - A man was stabbed to death by the husband of a woman he had an argument with Thursday at 8: p.m. in Villa Socorro, barangay Suba, Danao City.
Almeres Derecho, 29, was reported dead on arrival at the Danao City District Hospital after he was stabbed once in his left chest by the suspect identified as Junrey Mendoza, 28, a security guard.
The suspect had surrendered at the Danao City Police Station and is now charged with homicide.
According to the initial police investigation, Mendoza, who just came from work, tried to settle an argument between his wife Annie and Derecho, who is said to be the common-law husband of Annie’s sister.
This angered the victim who reportedly shouted at the suspect not to meddle in the argument.
When the suspect reasoned out that he has to settle whatever differences they have as Annie is his wife, the victim turned his ire on him. The argument then had shifted to the two men.
No longer able to contain his self, Mendoza reportedly got a knife and stabbed Derecho once, hitting him in the left chest. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
