One dies, 2 hurt in Naga accident

CEBU - At least one person was killed while two others were seriously injured when the vehicle they were riding hit the steel railings of a bridge in barangay Tinaan, Naga City yesterday dawn

Dan Jericson Omampo, 23, and his two companions were immediately taken to South General Hospital where he was declared by attending physician dead three hours later.

The two other victims - Aldus Licup, 28, and Mark de Leon, 25, the driver of the vehicle, are still at the hospital as of yesterday.

Police investigation revealed that before the incident, the Honda Civic used by the victims was traveling on the national road in Naga City from Cebu City.

Upon reaching barangay Tina-an around 2:30 a.m., it immediately maneuvered to the left to avoid an approaching passenger bus but accidentally rammed into the railings of Tinaan Bridge.

The victims, who are residents of Sucat, Parañaque City, were bound for Apo Cement Corporation based in Tinaan, Naga City for a business transaction.

They are reportedly employees of Solid Cement Corporation, which is based at Petron Mega Plaza in Makati City.
