Several activities have been lined up as part of the celebration of Cebu province’s 439th founding anniversary on August 6, one of which is a fashion show that will feature various office designs.
Teresita Celis of the uniform committee announced that during the fashion show, which will be held on August 7, the provincial government will choose the design for the uniforms of over a thousand Capitol employees next year.
During the anniversary, mayors from across the province will join Governor Gwendolyn Garcia for the flag raising ceremony at the Capitol grounds to kick off the celebration. The ceremony will also have the rising of colors representing all the municipalities and cities.
The Garbo sa Sugbu awardees will be presented at the provincial museum at the old Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center.
Part of the celebration is the holding of anniversary bazaar at the Cebu International Convention Center where different towns and component cities in the province will compete in the annual Festival of Festivals.
A trade fair during the Festival of Festivals will showcase the delicacies and other products of towns and cities in the province. A medical mission will also be conducted as well a sports activity.
There will be nightly entertainments, the commemoration of the Manuel L. Quezon Tree, and the planting by the governor of her own tree at the Capitol grounds. – Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon/LPM
