CCPO wants polygraph test for Mabolo school personnel

Cebu City Police Office director Patrocinio Comendador has ordered Supt. Armando Radok, chief of the Mabolo Police Station, to coordinate with the CCPO Theft and Robbery Section in conducting a lie detector test among school personnel as part of the investigation into the burglary of the Mabolo Elementary School the other day.

The school personnel should submit themselves to the test to see if there is any of them who might have knowledge about the burglary, in which the amount of P150,000 in cash was reportedly stolen from a cabinet inside the office of the school, said Comendador.

Comendador said the City Police should coordinate also with the National Bureau of Investigation for the equipment to be used in the test, adding that some crime scene investigators were already sent to the Mabolo school.

When asked for the possibility of an inside job, Comendador said: “Di pa ta modiretso but we have to consider all angles,” considering that there are no suspects yet to the case.

Comendador said the City Police might coordinate further with the Cebu Provincial Police, citing a similar incident in a school in Consolacion. “Dunay similar pattern sa robbery sa eskwelahan sa Consolacion,” he said.

Investigators would also determine the exact amount that was stolen from a steel cabinet that was forcibly opened by the burglars.

The money was raised by the parents to buy books for their pre-school children, but Comendador advised the school personnel not to leave any money in school offices. The money must be deposited in the bank, he said.  — Joy Kareen T. Saliente/RAE
