In an effort to give more time to the tax paying public, offices of the Bureau of Internal Revenue and its agent banks will be open the next two Saturdays and will extend their operating hours.
A press statement from BIR said the move is contained in the Bank Bulletin No. 2008-05 dated February 5 issued by the BIR commissioner. Deadline for tax returns and payments is set for April 15.
The bulletin issued by the BIR requested banks to open on April 5 and 12 as well as to extend their banking hours until 5 p.m. starting today until April 15.
BIR Revenue District Offices and other pilot BIR offices in municipalities will also open with available personnel.
