The Cebu City Police Office has been declared 2007’s Best City Police Office in Central Visayas, and is set to receive the award in today’s celebration of the 17th Philippine National Police Day.
PNP Chief, Director General Avelino Razon, Jr., is the guest speaker of the event that will also confer awards to other outstanding police units, and police officials or officers.
The other awardees are the Negros Oriental Provincial Police for the best provincial police office; Dumaguete City Police for the best police station; Valencia Police for the best municipal police station; and 705th Provincial Mobile Group for the best provincial mobile group
For the best women and children protection desk awards, Cebu Provincial Police Office is chosen awardee for the urban category while Compostela Police Station is the awardee for the rural category.
In other awards, the Regional Communication and Electronics-7 has been chosen the best national support unit for administration, while the Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection-7 is chosen best national support unit for operation. —Edwin Ian Melecio/RAE
