Theft and Robbery Section chief Alexis Relado said the case was only filed yesterday because the Anchor Bank employees were reluctant at first to cooperate with the police since they fear that the suspects might get back at them.
But after consulting with their lawyer, the bank employees decided to pursue with the case. The bank, located along Archbishop Reyes Avenue, lost at least P370,000 in the robbery.
Through the photos of known criminals that were presented to them by the police, the bank employees identified the suspects as Doroteo Imperial and Roldan Villanueva, alias as Jimrick Cardosa. The two are remnants of the Rey Torres-Danny Limotan robbery group.
Relado said they are also working for the solution of the robbery of the ticketing office of the Asian Spirit, also located along Archbishop Reyes Avenue, last February 4.
Relado stressed that his men and a cartographer are now coordinating with the sales agents at the ticketing office so that they can come up with a cartographic sketch of the robbers.
He explained that it is possible that those who robbed the Anchor Bank were also behind the robbery of the Asian Spirit because of the same manner the twin robberies were executed.
In both incidents, the robbers, who rode a motorcycle, pretended to be customers, used a pistol with a silencer and made pronouncement that they were vigilantes.
Meanwhile, city police director Patrocinio Comendador yesterday said they hope to solve the case on the robbery and shooting of a Korean student over the weekend.
Comendador said a witness already identified one of the two men who robbed and shot Young Suk Jeon Saturday dawn along M.C. Cuenco Avenue in barangay Banilad.
