Construction worker shot dead in Danao

A construction worker was shot dead by two unidentified persons Sunday night in sitio Lorenzo, barangay Sandayong Sur, Danao City.

Elements of Danao City Police Station led by SPO2 Ramir Oliverio rushed to the area after receiving a report about the killing of Romeo Bangcale.

Initial investigation conducted by SPO1 Allan Muñoz said that at about 10 p.m. last Sunday, the victim was awakened from his sleep by the assailants who forcibly entered his house.

The attackers then brought the victim to a secluded area a few meters from his house and shot him with an undetermined caliber of firearm.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds in his face, right shoulder, abdomen and right hip, and was killed instantly while the assailants immediately fled. His body was brought to St. Jude Funeral Parlor for autopsy.

SPO4 Teofilo Deguilmo, desk officer of Danao City Police Station, yesterday told The Freeman that the motive of the killing was not yet established but a follow up investigation is still being conducted to identity the assailants. - Norvie S. Misa
