Man kills neighbor over sexual assault on wife

Allegedly seething with anger over reports that a neighbor sexually molested his wife, a tanod that doubled as a carpenter in barangay Babayongan, Dalaguete town attacked the offender after a brief chase with a machete, killing him on the spot.

Alexander Amancio alias "Alex", 33, married, also a farmer, and who served as a tanod surrendered to the police. The murder weapon was confiscated.

Danilo Ayuban alias "Danny", 37, married, a farmer, a barangay councilor, and a resident of the place sustained wounds in the different parts of his body.

Dalaguete police investigator PO3 Cleto Pia told The Freeman that retaliation for Ayuban's alleged sexual assault on Amancio's wife, Violeta, could have been the motive.

Police alleged that Ayuban forced himself into Amancio's house last week and hugged Violeta while Amancio was in Cebu City working as a carpenter.

Police said Amancio and Ayuban had seemingly settled their differences at the police station, both shaking hands and agreeing that Ayuban and his family leave the place for their hometown Bohol. The Ayubans were just waiting for a pig to be sold. - Norvie S. Misa
