Two Cebu City policemen will be under investigation after a disc jockey from Tacloban City accused them of robbing him inside a hotel at the North Reclamation Area last month.
Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Bureau chief Paul Labra said the two policemen would be investigated after the alleged complainant went to his office to report the incident.
Romerick Tan, a mobile disc jockey in Tacloban City, revealed that he came to Cebu City last March 11 to buy an electronic device for his sound system. He reportedly contacted his friend, a certain Berto who is reportedly a police asset, to buy shabu while he stayed at the hotel.
At the hotel, Tan complained to "Berto" that the shabu they used tasted bitter and later noticed that "Berto" kept on answering his cellular phone while they were having a shabu session.
Tan alleged that the two policemen then suddenly barged in and confiscated his P22,000 cash, an iPOD, and his cellular phone.
Tan reported the incident to Labra's office and to the Commission on Human Rights. Labra and his men conducted a follow-up operation at the house of "Berto" in PC Hills, Apas where they recovered only Tan's cellular phone and P5,000 cash.
The two policemen were assigned at the Waterfront Police Station when the incident happened but one of them is now assigned at Fuente Police Station.
