Gov't agencies back CARP implementation

The regional directors of different national agencies in Central Visayas including the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police recently signed a memorandum of agreement of support in the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program.

The Department of Agrarian Reform, as the lead agency, initiated the MOA signing.

DAR-7 regional director Datu Yusoph Mama thanked the participants for being supportive and cooperative of DAR's implementation of CARP in the region.

Assistant regional director Eliasem Castillo presented the 2006 program thrusts and directives of the department and other areas of convergence with RCIT, hoping the team-agencies will again be as supportive to the program this year.

During the meeting, DAR-7 management took the opportunity to give recognition to the heads of agencies for their invaluable support.

The 2005 DAR municipal agrarian reform officers who contributed to the accomplishments of the region were also awarded in recognition of the commitment and dedication not only to achieve the target but also overshoot the same by more than 100 percent, notably the Province of Cebu that became the donor province in the region. - Gregg M.
