A 41-year-old man reported to the police that last Monday he lost his cash collection of P650,000 to two armed robbers who forcibly rode his car in barangay Lahug, Cebu City and ordered him at gunpoint to drive to barangay Cotcot in Liloan town where he was abandoned.
The victim, identified as Higuinio Hermosisima of barangay Apas in Cebu City, said he met a friend who paid him the money inside a restaurant along Salinas Drive in Lahug.
Shortly after he left the restaurant, two unidentified men on a motorcycle suddenly blocked his car and pointed a gun at him. The one riding on the back of the motorcycle quickly got into his car, sat beside him, and ordered him to drive ahead while demanding his money.
Hermosisima said he insisted he had no other money other than those in his wallet but the robber pointed at the paper bag, containing the cash collection, placed under the driver's seat. The robber then ordered him to keep on driving while the other robber on the motorcycle kept on trailing them throughout.
Upon reaching Runa Subdivision in Liloan town, the robber got the victim's bag of money, alighted from the car in a narrow corner and joined his companion on the motorcycle, which then sped off to an undetermined direction.
Hermosisima reported the incident to the Liloan Police where Insp. Milo Dagasgas, the chief of police, vowed to investigate the story of the victim to be able to identify and arrest the robbers. -Norvie S. Misa
