Man shot dead in his sleep

A 43-year-old man was found dead after being shot in the head inside his shanty in sitio Suba, barangay Poblacion, Argao town, the other day.

Elisio Aballe was found dead by his older brother Cifronio when the latter tried to wake him up for coffee.

Police said around 9:30 p.m. last Sunday, Cifronio reported hearing a gunshot prompting him to call his neighbors to go with him to check on his brother who lived in a house near the shore.

He saw his brother who seemed to be asleep and decided not to wake him.

But next morning he discovered his brother already dead and with a gunshot wound above his forehead. Cifronio did not notice the wound the night before since Elisio was sleeping on his side.

PO3 Arnold Abenir of the Argao police said Elisio was brought to the Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital last Christmas for a head injury, although he claimed he got it after he slipped, police speculate someone had hit him in the head with a bottle. - Norvie S. Misa
