Man stabs neighbor for "hogging the mike"

For hogging the microphone during videoke, a man was stabbed by his neighbor during a birthday party at the house of a former barangay captain in barangay Tungkil, Minglanilla town, last Wednesday night.

Danny Cabildo, 27, was stabbed by Alberto Salonoy, 32, with a 21-inch bolo in the abdomen and was brought to the South General Hospital in Naga town.

Initial investigation revealed that both were drinking and singing videoke at the party of former Tungkil barangay captain Cesar Santiago. Salonoy got mad after the victim grabbed the microphone from him as he was about to sing "Magdalena".

Salonoy left the party, went home and later returned already armed with a bolo and stabbed the victim.

Cabildo was rushed to the hospital for treatment while Salonoy was arrested and turned over to Minglanilla police station while appropriate charges are being prepared against him. - Norvie S. Misa, correspondent
