Cebu Provincial Police Office director Vicente Loot confirmed yesterday in a press conference that P/Chief Insp. Juanito Enguerra, chief of the Special Operations Group, would assume office on Friday as the new Provincial Intelligence and Investigation Branch head.
Enguerra will replace former PIIB head S/Insp. Lemuel Obon, who will be moved to Consolacion as the town's chief of police, while the current chief of the Consolacion Police, P/Insp. Maximo Medida, will be assigned at the PIIB as chief investigator.
Loot said that aside from being the head of the PIIB, Enguerra will remain as head of the Special Operations Group while he is still looking for a replacement.
Enguerra's previous assignments include significant posts at the maritime and intelligence agencies, and as boat captain and driver patrol for President Gloria Arroyo when she was still Vice President in 1995.
