Monsignor Achilles Dakay said yesterday that the Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal is set to issue a bolder and informative pastoral letter than the previous one against the plan to divide Cebu.
Despite the insistence of Kintanar, Yapha and Martinez that their move would be beneficial to their constituents, Vidal had branded the move to divide the province as "evil".
Dakay revealed that some parishioners have favored for Cebu split but the opposition is overwhelming as shown in the surveys in the parishes that were done after masses.
In the same manner, Maambong yesterday said his resolution will contain the clamor of the LMP as represented by its president Dalaguete Mayor Ronald Allan Cesante to request House Committee on Local Government Chairman Emilio Macias for the holding of a public hearing here. - Ferliza C.
