CEBU, Philippines – Here's a dish that's perfectly fit for Lent. This stir-fried kangkong recipe from the website www.filipinostylerecipe.com is an easy yet healthy option. The procedure is very simple. It can be prepared in three to five minutes, and cooks in two minutes. The following recipe serves two persons.

Ingredients:

1          bunch kangkong, trimmed

2          gloves garlic, minced

4          pieces red chili

            (labuyo), sliced

2          tablespoons oyster sauce

1          tablespoon fish sauce

2          tablespoons brown sugar

2          tablespoons olive oil

            (or regular cooking oil)

Procedures:

Part 1 -

1. In a large bowl, combine garlic, red chili, oyster sauce, fish sauce and brown sugar.

2. Add kangkong then toss to coat.

Part 2 -

1. In a pan, heat oil and  then add all the ingredients.

2. Stir fry to 1-2 minutes or until wilted.

Serve immediately.

NOTE: If sauce is desired, add half cup water and 1 more tablespoon fish sauce. Two tablespoons crushed "hibi," dried shrimp, maybe also added to top the ready dish for more flavor.
