For the last five years, Belgium National Day was always celebrated with reception and cocktails at posh hotels. This time around, the celebration was held at the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel’s Manila Room.
At the reception line welcoming guests were HE Belgian Ambassador to the Philippines Christian Meerscham and the Consul of Belgium, Enrique Benedicto. The very commodious Manila Room was filled with friends of the hosts from the Consular Corps…PROC Consul He Shijing, Consul John Domingo, Consul Jose Sala, Consul & Mrs. Michel Lhuillier, Consul & Mrs. Robert Lee, Consul & Mrs. Grand Benedicto, Ambassador Frank Benedicto, Usec Phineas Alburo, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, Mayor Michael Rama and former Congressman Raul del Mar, as well as businessmen from the American and Chinese communities.
The Ambassador spoke about the progress of Cebu of which Governor Gwen Garcia added, especially the tremendous result of One Cebu’s success. And for this reason, she called on Mayor Michael Rama to join them on stage where they were given a resounding cheers for a job well done!

It’s the 33rd anniversary today of Jesu Christi Community of Cebu, Inc. since this charismatic group was organized in September 11, 1978. Now on its 33rd year of serving God and His people, the JCCCI is under the Christian guidance of the very active and energetic Rev. Fr. Socrates Saldua as its Adviser and Guidance Counselor.
