CEBU, Philippines - In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Italian Unification, Rustan's and Metrobank will be hosting a special lifestyle workshop on one of Italy's most renowned artforms, world-renowned Capodimonte porcelain.
The name Capodimonte is synonymous with the finest quality porcelain and ceramics from Italy. It originated in 1759 when King Charles of Naples developed a passion for decorative porcelain and established the Royal Factory near the Royal Palace in Capodimonte hill. There, generations of skilled craftsmen perfected the art of molding, sculpting, and firing hard paste ceramics by hand to produce exquisite porcelain items, from decorative pieces like flowers and figurines to everyday objects for the home like vases, bowls, and snuff boxes. What were created are home and personal essentials of a bygone era, beautiful collectibles found only in the finest homes.
Today, genuine Capodimonte porcelain is highly prized all over the world for its rich history, detailed and painstaking craftsmanship, and enduring beauty. For this year's Italian Festival, Rustan's will be showcasing an all-new and exclusive collection of Capodimonte porcelain for the home in all their stores.
In addition, Rustan's and Metrobank is inviting interested participants to join a lifestyle workshop on this unique artform, featuring Italian Capodimontedealer, connoisseur, and impresario Devis Rossi. The latest workshop will be on June 28, Tuesday, 3:00 pm in the Activity Center of Rustan's Cebu. PR
