Barkada- Bonding Through Cooking

CEBU, Philippines - The Philippine School of Culinary Arts’  new    offering  is   a delicious way for friends to bond. Starting this summer, PSCA will   conduct  culinary workshop  for groups  of at least six. The Barkada, prepare and  enjoy eating  what they   prepare.  Cooking  modules are flexible and   may be customized according to interest of the group.  Example of modules are: Baking (Cupcakes and Muffins, Cookies, Chocolates, Breads) .Pasta and Pizza;  Country Cuisines,  (Italian, Moroccan,  Filipino, Chinese; themed dinner menu, Vegetarian, etc.

The barkada can be family, teens, couples, busy professionals  (bankers, doctors, lawyers, call center agents) or any group interested in cooking and eating great food. 

The Philippine School of Culinary Arts, a professional culinary school,  opened in  2003 at Good Shepherd Road in Banawa, Cebu City .   Just before Christmas of  2009,   the school moved to its present location at The Maxwell   Hotel Annex Building at Escario Street, Cebu City, a  bigger and  more accessible  location.  The school occupies 3 floors of the building.  The kitchens are all on the  5th floor, while the reception and offices are on the 3rd floor and the classrooms on the 4th. 

The main   course offering of   PSCA  are the professional career courses:  the ladderized two-year program for Diploma in Culinary Arts and the 10 month Certificate in Baking and Pastry Arts.  The ladders for the  Diploma in Culinary Arts are: five-month Certificate in Basic Culinary Arts, seven- month  Certificate in  Intermediate Culinary Arts and the 12-month Certificate in Advance Culinary Arts.    

PSCA also offers  professional development short courses such as the 20-session Commercial Cooking Skills Upgrading Course  meant   for cook practitioners who had no formal culinary classroom classes and teachers who intend to teach commercial cooking classes; the 10-session course on Commissary Cooking,  specially designed for cooks/chefs/food technologists/ nutritionists currently working or about to start commissary cooking and Culinary Techniques for Product Development, specifically intended for food technologists  and other professionals involved in product development departments of  food establishments.
