The annual feast day grand celebration of Señor Sto. Niño was held at the National Shrine of Saint Joseph Parish Church.
The 27th Liturgical celebration was jointly sponsored by Mandaue Sto. Niño Association, Inc. and National Shrine of St. Joseph Parish Church. This year’s theme is: “Contemplating the face of Sto. Niño de Cebu in the Bible.”
A nine-day novena proceeded the festivities and the pontifical Mass in honor of Sto. Niño was concelebrated by Bishop Pepito and co-celebrants Rev. Fr. Kit Sestoco and Rev. Fr. Isaias Gerali Jr. The concelebrated Mass is the traditional installation of the Hermano and Hermana Mayor 2008. This year’s Hermana and Hermano are Dra. Mae C. Mendoza and her son Ritchie Mendoza, respectively.
The fiesta celebration was capped with a dinner hosted by the hermana and hermano held at their mansion residence attended by friends, relatives and religious organizations in the parish after the procession. The Mandaue Sto. Niño Association Inc. officers 2005-2008 are Natividad Cortes, president; Hon. Rosita Benabaye, vice president; Dra. Lina Sanchez-Entise, secretary; Mildred Simolde, treasurer; Engr. Antonio Sanchez Sr, auditor; Atty. Paterno Acabodillo, senior executive director; Adolfo Lim, program director; Hon. Dionisio Ceniza, Mayor Jonas Cortes, Hon. Diosdado Suico, Hon. Carmelita Seno, Amado Go and Inocenta Go, board of directors.
