Pia Guanio's 'wonderful gift"

Her name is Scarlet Jenine. She weighs 7.8 pounds and is 20 inches tall.

Scarlet Jenine is the baby daughter of actress and TV host Pia Guanio and husband Steve Mago.

She was born by Caesarean section last Friday. “Thank you Lord for the wonderful gift in our lives!” Pia tweeted.

Sending Pia their congrats were her showbiz friends Isabelle Daza, Iza Calzado, and her co-host in Showbiz Central John Lapus.

“And thanks to everyone else who tweeted their good intentions, wishes and prayers! God bless you too!" she tweeted.

Best wishes to the new mom.

Kris Aquino revealed that she and Makati Mayor Junjun Binay had gone out on a date.

Kris’ guest co-hosts on her show, Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco, pried it out of her.

"Have we dated? Yes. Pero, did it go further than that? No. So will I date again? Yes, soon," she said.

But later in her Twitter account, Kris clarified that the date she was referring to was not – repeat, not – Mayor Binay.

"Oh my- I read na people interpreted that I confirmed having dated Mayor Jun Binay. Shucks, not him... Naku Jason hindi sya," she said.

"I got to talk to Mayor Jun Binay and we laughed about how what I said this morning was misinterpreted. Kwentuhan ko naman daw sya who the person I referred to really is... I told him, Jun at least I'm not as madaldal as everyone assumes. May capability ako to keep things quiet and private," Aquino said.

So which is which, Kris? I’m getting confused.

Zsa Zsa Padilla must be overwhelmed with relief and joy after being told that the tumor that was removed from her kidney was benign.

Zsa Zsa had gone to the US for surgery for the tumor, which is said to be the size of a golf ball. She was really worried because the initial finding was that it could be cancerous.

The actress, who had just lost the love of her life, Comedy King Dolphy, was priming herself for a battle with the Big C. She’s been spared that ordeal. Maybe someone up there was watching over her.

GMA-7 star Regine Velasquez can’t be interviewed by rival network ABS-CBN. It’s stipulated on her contract.

When a TV crew from ABS-CBN tried to get comments from Regine about her movie 'Of All The Things' with Aga Muhlach, she flatly refused.

A crew from TV5, however, didn’t have any problems getting an interview from her. TV5 is the home network of Aga, and GMA Films is releasing the movie. So go figure.

To refresh your memory, Regine almost moved over to ABS-CBN before she gave birth but was prevailed upon by the Kapuso management to stay put.

Regine, by the way, is still dieting to get in shape for her concert to celebrate her 25th anniversary in showbiz.

How true are reports that Journey got a cool half a million bucks to perform at the Republican national convention in Tampa, Florida, last week?

Arnel Pineda is mum on the subject of the band’s talent fee for a private show during the convention. He said though that performing at the political affair doesn’t mean that he’s supporting any candidate.

"We're only here for the entertainment, we're not here to support any sides. We're very grateful there's a job for us here and to make a lot of people here (happy) through the songs," Pineda was quoted in an interview by the ABS-CBN‘s North American Bureau.

Guess who was at the convention extolling the Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney? Dirty Harry himself, Clint Eastwood.

Clint did what was described as a “bizarre cameo,” carrying on a conversation with a phantom President Barack Obama.

The actor-director’s 12-minute performance drew mixed reviews. The Republicans loved it but the Democrats think Clint was bordering on crazy. I don’t think it will win him an Oscar this time.
