'I had a complete meltdown,' Angelina Jolie reveals breaking down while making her directorial debut

CEBU, Philippines - Angelina Jolie is not immune to the pressures of directing a film. In fact, the star's directorial debut, "In The Land Of Blood and Honey," left her sobbing.

"I had a complete emotional breakdown in the shower, and Brad found me just crying," the 36-year-old star said in a live video web chat with Marie Claire on Thursday.

"I suddenly felt the responsibility and I felt very small and, who am I to take this on? And think that I could make a difference? What have I done?" she explained. "I had a complete meltdown."

The actress-turned-director told chat moderator Vanessa Glodjo that she's still adjusting to her new role behind the camera.

"I didn't plan to become a director, and I still have trouble saying I'm a director. I just wanted to tell this story and I ended up by default being the director," the big screen beauty said.

Angelina also spoke about her six children she has with partner Brad Pitt, saying she hopes to instill "compassion and respect" in them.

"I want my children to be aware of the world around them and have respect for all people around the world," she said during the chat. "From the nature of the make-up of my family, they learn a lot about each other. They don't see this divide, which is dangerous."

Angelina and Brad are expected this weekend at the Golden Globe Awards where "In the Land of Blood and Honey" is nominated for an award.
